Armed robbery with violence in Sunnybank Hills, QLD

Detectives are investigating an armed robbery with violence that occurred at a Sunnybank Hills residence this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Around 3pm, two men knocked on the door of a Lang Street address and were invited inside by the 47-year-old occupant of the house.

The occupant believed the men were waiting for another occupant of the address to arrive home.

One of the men struck the 47-year-old on the arm with a glass bottle and then produced a hammer, striking him on the face.

The second man stood over the 47-year-old while the first began searching the house, using a washing basket to steal a sum of property.

The pair fled the scene in an older model white single-cab utility with aluminium tray. The vehicle was last seen heading towards Stones Road.

The 47-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital for treatment.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with dashcam vision who was in the area between 2.45pm and 3.15pm to contact police.
