Armed Robbery – Wivenhoe IGA Supermarket, TAS

Around 6:00pm on Friday 2nd September 2016 a male person entered the Wivenhoe IGA on Main Road, Wivenhoe with a weapon and demanded money from staff. He made off with a sum of cash and was seen leaving the area in a red Holden utility, Tasmania Police say.

At 7pm, acting on information received, police located a 47 year old Burnie man at Sulphur Creek. He was arrested and was later charged with armed robbery.

The male is to appear in an out of hours Court at the Burnie Court of Petty Sessions on Saturday morning the 3rd September 2016.
