Arrest after pursuit, break and enters, and vehicle thefts, NSW

A man has been arrested after a string of break and enters and vehicle thefts in Sydney’s north-west, NSW Police say.

About midnight (Friday 21 September 2018), a break and enter occurred at a home on Sail Street, The Ponds.

A short time later another break and enter was committed on Pebble Crescent, The Ponds. A Toyota Camry Sedan was stolen from that address which was later recovered on Pearce Road, Quakers Hill.

A house on Mansion Court, Quakers Hill, was then broken into and a silver Holden Commodore stolen. A short time later police attempted to stop the vehicle, however it failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

Just after 1am, on Reycroft Avenue, Quakers Hill, the vehicle left the road and mounted the kerb, coming to rest in the front garden of a home.

The driver, a man aged in his 20s, attempted to run, but was arrested.

He has been taken to Westmead Hospital for drug and urine tests. He is then expected to be taken to Riverstone Police Station for charging.
