Arrest following Brunswick hit-run

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man over an alleged hit and run incident which occurred in Brunswick earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

Investigators allege a white Hino truck was stolen from Barkly Street about 1.30pm on 13 October.

The truck was located by its owner near the intersection of Union and Little Gold street a short time later.

The owner attempted to stop the unauthorised driver and was hit by the truck which then hit a stationary car.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in Williamstown today in relation to the incident.

He faced an out of sessions hearing and was charged with numerous traffic offences including reckless conduct endangering life and reckless conduct endangering serious injury.

He has been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
