Police have arrested a man following a fatal assault in Rosedale yesterday evening, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a man was seen allegedly assaulting another man on Hood Street, near the Princes Highway, just before 10pm.
A 43-year-old man was located lying on the road and was flown to Melbourne with serious head injuries but died this morning.
Detectives arrested a 37-year-old man who is currently in custody and assisting police with their enquiries.
Police believe both parties are known to each other.
