Arrest Made in Alice Springs Aggravated Robbery 17 March

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 21-year-old male in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred this morning in Alice Springs.

At 9am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) received a report of an unlawful entry at an accommodation provider on Bath Street.

It is alleged a male offender entered the premises and began searching through the reception counter. The offender was interrupted by a staff member, who he allegedly physically assaulted, before he stole cash and a set of keys.

Police responded and a crime scene was established.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was assessed at the scene.

Strike Force Viper took carriage of the investigation and at 2:45pm the 21-year-old was located and arrested by Viper members on Todd Street.

He remains in police custody with charges expected to follow.
