Arrest over robbery at Salisbury Plain, SA

A man has been charged following an alleged car robbery overnight at Salisbury Plain, according to SA Police.

At 10.40pm on Friday 6 January, police were called to the Salisbury Plain area after reports a woman’s car had been stolen. Police will allege the woman was threatened with a firearm on Stanbel Road, before her car was stolen while she was still inside. She was let out a short time later on Lloyd Street.

The Holden Barina was later found burnt out at 11.30pm on Ranger Street in Elizabeth Park.

At midday today, police attended and searched a house in Elizabeth Grove where a number of firearms were located.

A 33-year-old man from Elizabeth Grove was arrested and charged with assault, aggravated robbery, abduction and making threats to kill.

It is expected he will be refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday 9 January.

Police are continuing their investigation into the second alleged suspect.
