Just before 2.30am on Wednesday 4 October, police patrols were called to a service station on West Terrace following reports of a stolen credit card had been used to purchase a mobile phone.

On arrival, they spoke with a man who advised his credit card was stolen earlier in the night and he had checked his account to find it had been used to purchase two mobile phones at the service station.

A check on CCTV vision and details from the console operator revealed a teenage girl had allegedly made the purchases just minutes before police had arrived.
