Arrests after stolen vehicles, firearms and drugs seized across Shepparton area

Police have arrested seven people as part of a regional operation targeting unlicensed firearms, stolen property and drugs in the Shepparton area, Victoria Police say.

Police executed seven search warrants at properties across Shepparton, Kialla and Mooroopna over the past two days.

A significant amount of weapons and drugs were allegedly recovered as a result.

The items seized also included two cars, three quad bikes, three tandem trailers, number plates, five chainsaws, a rocket launcher, imitation hand guns and capsicum spray.

Police have charged a number of people, including:

•A 40-year-old Mooroopna man, charged with firearms-related offences, possess prohibited weapon and handle stolen goods.

He was bailed to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on 29 March 2019.

•A 39-year-old year old Kialla East man, charged with 13 offences including possess a traffickable quantity of firearms and other firearm-related offences, handle stolen goods and drug possession.

He was bailed to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on 29 March 2019.

•A 38-year-old Shepparton man, charged with seven offences including traffick drug of dependence, handle stolen goods and weapons-related offences.

He has been remanded to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on 11 February 2019.

•A 19-year-old Shepparton man, charged with 17 offences including aggravated burglary, burglary, theft of motor vehicle and other theft-related offences.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on 26 March 2019.

•A 33-year-old Ardmona woman and 41-year-old Ardmona man, who were both arrested in relation to outstanding matters.

•A 35-year-old year old Shepparton man was arrested in relation to drugs and issued with a drug diversion notice.
