Arrests made following farm burglary in Bealiba

Central Goldfields Crime Investigation Unit detectives and members from the Geelong High Volume Crime Team have arrested three men in relation to an alleged burglary in Bealiba last month, Victoria Police say.

It was reported that approximately $50,000 worth of farming equipment was stolen from a farm in Bealiba between 29 October and 2 November.

Police executed three search warrants on 21 November in Bannockburn, Hamlin Heights, and Lara and arrested three men without complication.

A number of allegedly stolen pieces of farming equipment, and several firearms and ammunition, were recovered during the search warrants.

A 36-year-old man from Lara has been charged and bailed for a number of offences including burglary and theft, and is expected to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 27 February.

A 49-year-old man from Bannockburn was released pending summons in relation to alleged firearm offences.

A 41-year-old man from Hamlin Heights was released pending summons in relation to possessing proceeds of crime.
