Arrests Made in Alice Springs Aggravated Burglary 18 January

Northern Territory Police have arrested 3 people after they unlawfully entered a section of the Alice Springs Hospital this morning and attempted to steal several items.

About 07:20 am hospital security staff reported to police that 3 offenders had been observed on CCTV entering an area of the hospital that is closed and locked on weekends.

The security staff detained the alleged offenders before Alice Springs general duties officers arrived on scene.

The 3 offenders, 2 females aged 49 and 48-years-old respectively, and a 50-year-old male were found to be in possession of miscellaneous items from the area, including hand sanitiser.

The male was also found to be in possession of a knife and a security fob that granted access to the closed part of the hospital.

The offenders remain in police custody and are expected to be charged and face court in Alice Springs tomorrow.
