Arrests Made in Coolalinga Car Theft Attempt

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested two male youths in relation to an attempted motor vehicle theft in Coolalinga yesterday.

Around 4:30pm, five male youths were observed allegedly attempting to steal a white Toyota Landcruiser from a car park at a business in Coolalinga. The vehicle stalled before the offenders fled the scene on foot.

Strike Force Trident and general duties members responded and commenced investigations. An off-duty police officer sighted the alleged offenders a short time later on Bow Hunters Road in Virginia, and two males aged 14 and 16-years-old were subsequently arrested.

They have since been charged with Aggravated Robbery, Engage in Violent Conduct, Drive/Ride/Use a motor vehicle without consent and Breach of bail. They are due to appear in court at a later date.

Investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the outstanding offenders.
