Arrests Made in Warradale, Seaview Downs Supermarket Break-Ins

Two people were arrested after allegedly breaking into supermarkets at Warradale and Seaview Downs overnight.

Police responded after alarms activated at a supermarket on Railway Terrace, Warradale at 12.55am on Monday 26 October. The suspects had entered and made off with a small amount of cash before police arrived.

A few minutes later, just after 1am, patrols were called to Seacombe Road, Seaview Downs by a report of another supermarket break-in.

Patrols arrived while the caller was still on the line and chased the suspects down the road. The roller door had been forced up, the glass smashed and a safe was left dangling out of the window as they fled.

One suspect was found in the front yard of the premises next door and arrested.

Police Dog Webster arrived to help search the area and located a man hiding in a bush in Chandra Avenue.

A 19-year-old Morphettville man and an 18-year-old Warradale man were charged with two counts of serious criminal trespass in relation to both break-ins, property damage and carry an article of disguise.

The Morphettville man was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today, while the Warradale man was bailed to 26 November.
