Arrests made over robberies, South Australia

Two men have been arrested following two robberies in the western suburbs last night.

Just after 6.30pm Sunday 18 July police were called to the Windsor Hotel on North East Road after reports a man armed with a weapon had entered and threatened staff before leaving the scene with a small amount of cash.

A couple of hours later just before 8.30pm on Sunday 18 July, patrols were called to the Reepham Hotal on the corner of Churchill Road and Regency Road after reports two men entered the gaming room and demanded cash before fleeing empty handed.

Thankfully staff and customers were not physically injured in either robbery.

Following an investigation Detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch with the assistance of Western and Eastern Detectives arrested two men aged 38 and 48 from Parkside and Munno Para.

Both men were charged with two counts of committing theft using force.

They were both refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

A black handgun possibly used in the robbery may have been discarded in the Brompton area. Police advise residents to check their yards and surrounding area. Please do not touch the gun but call Police on 131 444 if you locate it.
