Around 7.50pm on Monday, 31 October 2016, Emergency Services attended a structure fire at 22 Carlton River Road, Carlton. , Tasmania Police say
The privately owned two storey brick house was fully engulfed by fire that was extinguished by members from Tasmania Fire Service.
At the time of the fire there was an occupant at home, who did not receive any injuries from the fire.
The house and contents were completely destroyed by the fire and the damage was estimated at over $300,000.
Fire scene investigators quickly established that the fire had been deliberately lit and a male youth was taken to the Bellerive Police Station to assist police with their investigation.
The youth was arrested, charged and bailed to appear in the Hobart Youth Justice Court at a later date.
