Artist Talk with Michelle Walker and Jude White in June

In Conversation with Michelle Walker and Jude White - Artist Talk this June

The Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) & Ignite Studios is pleased to announce a special artist talk with local exhibiting artists Michelle Walker and Jude White, in conversation with visual artist and educator Virginia Reid, as part of their exhibition Ash, Mud & Tears, currently on show at NRCG until 25 June 2023.

White and Walker's work captures the devastation and turmoil of fires and floods which have affected the region in recent years, and the process of recovery which has followed.

Taking place in the Gallery on Saturday 17 June from 2pm, the talk will be an opportunity to hear each artist speak of the intensely personal and emotional components of their practice, and how they have worked with the rawness and force experience during the events, and the associated loss, disruption, and grief. In addition, their practical approaches using diverse media such as textiles, wood, metal, mud, botanicals, ash, minerals, and wax will be discussed.

This event is free, and no registrations are required. Seating will be available subject to capacity.
