Ashurst Guides Newcastle Airport on Weapons Facility

Global law firm Ashurst has advised Newcastle Airport on the arrangements for Australia's first guided weapons manufacturing and maintenance facility to be based at the airport.

The factory will be operated by Kongsberg Defence Australia and will be part of Newcastle Airport's Astra Aerolab precinct. It will bring sovereign defence manufacturing capability onshore to Australia and will manufacture and maintain the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) and Joint Strike Missile (JSM) for the Australian Defence Force.
