Assault police at Glass House Mountains, QLD

One man is currently assisting police with their inquiries and police are seeking a second man after an officer was assaulted at Glass House Mountains this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Around 4.45pm an officer stopped a white Toyota Camry on Johnston Road towing a trailer without a registration plate.

When the officer approached the vehicle the male passenger got out of the vehicle and punched the officer a number of times to the head and body. A struggle ensured and the man told the driver to get a nine-year-old child out of the vehicle. The passenger then got into the vehicle and drove away without the other man or child.

The initial driver is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

The Toyota Camry had been stolen from a Glenview address on the evening on December 10.

Investigations are continuing.
