Assistance sought from public to identify driver at Mount Gambier, SA

Mount Gambier police are seeking assistance from the public to help locate the driver of a car involved in a pursuit overnight where a police officer was injured, according to SA Police.

Just before midnight on Tuesday 13 June, police stopped a black Mitsubishi 4WD on Tumut Drive, MOUNT GAMBIER. As the police officer opened the car door and attempted to detain the driver, he reversed the car, knocking the officer over and dragging them along the ground for a short distance.

The car then hit a tree, damaging the rear of the vehicle before speeding away. The car was pursued by police for a brief time before it was terminated for safety reasons.

Thankfully, the police officer received only minor injuries.

Police are actively looking for this vehicle, a black 1998 Mitsubishi Challenger 4WD with SA registration WIM112, and seek assistance from the public to help identify the driver.
