Associates and members of the Lone Wolf OMCG arrested following Illawarra brawl, NSW

Five members and associates of the south coast chapter of Lone Wolf Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) have been arrested following investigations into a brawl in the Illawarra late last year, NSW Police say.

About 10.15pm on Friday 23 December 2016, police were called to a licensed premises on Cliff Road, North Wollongong, following reports of a brawl.

Five of the men fled the location and on arrival, officers from Wollongong Local Area Command spoke with a number of patrons.

Police were told up to seven men were fighting at the location, throwing chairs and glasses during the affray. No one was seriously injured.

A crime scene was established at the location and examined by specialist forensic officers.

An investigation into the incident was commenced by Wollongong detectives and investigators from the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor.

As a result of their inquiries, Strike Force Raptor, assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad and the National Anti-Gangs Squad Sydney Strike Team, executed five search warrants at homes at Figtree, Coniston, and Port Kembla, about 6am today.

Five men – aged 39, 40, 44, and two aged 29 – who are all members or close associates of the Lone Wolf OMCG, were arrested during the operation.

They have been taken to Wollongong Police Station, where they are expected to be charged with affray and participate in a criminal group.

Investigations are continuing.

Strike Force Raptor was established by State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad in 2009. It is a proactive and high-impact operation targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs and any associated criminal enterprises.

Anyone with information to assist police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
