Attempt robbery Smithfield

Police are investigating an attempted aggravated robbery at a service station in Smithfield early this morning.

Just before 1.15am Thursday 28 November, police were called to a service station on Main North Road after a man allegedly entered the store and produced a knife.

The man demanded cash however the attendant was able to quickly raise the alarm and the man ran from the scene empty handed. Thankfully there were no physical injuries.

Patrols set up cordons while police dog PD Zeus searched the area but the suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as being Caucasian and about 175cms tall. He was wearing a dark grey hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants and grey shoes with white soles.
