Attempted armed robbery at Deception Bay, QLD

Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a medical centre at Deception Bay this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Around 2.45pm a man allegedly armed with a knife, entered the Zammit Street business making threats while demanding property.

A short time later, police attended the business and arrested the man.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

A 39-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, going armed so as to cause fear, and possession of a knife in a public place.

He is due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on October 18.
