Attempted armed robbery at Drayton, QLD

Police have charged a 22-year-old man following investigations into an attempted armed robbery at Drayton this evening, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that around 5pm, a man entered a supermarket on Brisbane Street and approached the service desk.

It will be further alleged that the man produced a knife, threatened a female store employee, and made demands for cash.

A number of customers held the man until police arrived and took him into custody without incident.

No one was hurt during the incident.

A 22-year-old Toowoomba man has been charged with attempted armed robbery and is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow, May 19.
