Police are investigating after a man attempted to rob a retail outlet with a knife at Molendinar this afternoon, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary information suggests around 2.20pm a man entered the store on Southport-Nerang Road and demanded money from the attendant before producing a knife.
The female attendant was unable to open the register and the man fled the store empty-handed.
The man is described as having an olive or tanned complexion, around 40 to 50-years-old, approximately 178cm tall with a solid build.
Anyone who may have seen the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
