Attempted armed robbery at Rothwell, QLD

Detectives from Moreton South Criminal Investigation Branch have released images of a man who may be able to assist with investigations into an incident at Rothwell in which a woman was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery, Queensland Police say.

Around 8.35pm on December 4 a 23-year-old Chermside woman, waiting on a train platform at the Rothwell Railway Station, was approached by a man on a pushbike.

The man engaged the woman in a brief conversation before he produced a knife, threatening her and demanding cash and a mobile phone.

The pair struggled briefly with the woman being pushed to the ground. She managed to get to her feet and grab her handbag and mobile phone, running from the man.

The woman was not physically injured and police investigations are continuing.
