Attempted armed robbery, Hermit Park

Detectives have charged a man following an attempted armed robbery incident that is alleged to have occurred yesterday evening (December 13), Queensland Police say.

It is alleged at about 8.45pm at a service station on Charters Towers Road, a man entered the business and demanded money whilst threatening a staff member with a knife.

Police arrived a short time later and located the man who was subsequently arrested.

No one was injured during the incident.

A 36-year-old Condon man is charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

He is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court this morning.
