Attempted armed robbery in Salisbury, QLD

Brisbane detectives are searching for two men who attempted to rob a Salisbury hotel in the early hours of Saturday morning, January 27, Queensland Police say.

Around 4am the men approached the entrance to the Toohey Road hotel and tried to open the locked doors to the gaming machine area.

A security guard, who was inside the venue, approached the locked doors at which time one of the offenders pointed a rifle at him. The security guard retreated from the doors and contacted police.

The two men, unable to gain access to the hotel, then fled.

Anyone who has any information which could assist police with their investigations is asked to contact police.
