Attempted armed robbery Point Lonsdale

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV as part of their investigation into an attempted armed robbery at a Point Lonsdale on Saturday (3 March), Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a man entered the premises around 8.30am armed with an edged weapon.

The man threatened the attendant and demanded cash but was disturbed by a delivery driver who entered the shop from the rear of the store.

The offender ran from the store into school grounds nearby.

Investigators have released CCTV, captured from the nearby school, of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is believed to be aged in his late teens, approximately 185cm tall with a thin build, and was wearing a white face mask or balaclava, black hooded jumper and dark coloured pants.

Anyone who recognises the man or with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
