Attempted carjacking at Cannon Hill, QLD

Police are investigating an attempted carjacking incident that occurred at Cannon Hill this morning (December 28), Queensland Police say.

Preliminary investigations indicate at about 11am, a woman was unpacking her vehicle at a residence in Princes Street when another woman approached, entered her vehicle and unsuccessfully attempted to start it.

The female resident yelled at the offender causing a male occupant from the residence to come outside and physically detain the female offender.

A male offender waiting in a nearby vehicle produced a tomahawk resulting in the female offender being released.

Both male and female offenders fled the scene in a Commodore sedan and were last seen in Cavendish Road, Coorparoo.

No one was injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
