Attempted murder charge in Meadowbrook, QLD

A man has been charged following after a man was assaulted in his car in Meadowbrook earlier today, Queensland Police say.

A man stopped his car at traffic lights on Loganlea Road around 12.30pm and it will be alleged that a man in a vehicle that was behind him and stabbed him while he was sitting in the car.

Police took a man into custody a short time later in Kingston.

The 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with a number of stab wounds which are not believed to be life threatening.

A 48-year-old Slacks Creek man has been charged with one count each of attempted murder and possession of dangerous drugs and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates court tomorrow.
