Attempted murder charge, St Lucia

North Brisbane detectives have charged two teenagers with attempted murder after a man was allegedly assaulted during a break-in at St Lucia early last month.

Police were called to a Prospect Terrace home shortly after 1am on August 9 where they located a 47-year-old male resident who had allegedly been stabbed in the back while investigating a noise inside the house.

Police identified four people of interest, who were all arrested the following morning (August 10) after the stolen vehicle they were driving in was stopped by police in Inala.

On August 23, a 15-year-old East Ipswich boy was charged with attempted murder, burglary and commit indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted enter dwelling with intent and enter dwelling with intent at night. He has appeared in the Brisbane Children's Court.

On August 27, a 15-year-old Holland Park boy was charged with attempted murder and enter dwelling with intent at night. He has appeared in the Brisbane Children's Court.

Seven other teenage boys aged between 14 and 18 and a 17-year-old girl have appeared in the Brisbane Children's Court or Magistrates Court, all charged with one count of burglary and commit indictable offence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
