Attempted murder charge, Underwood

Detectives from the Organised Crime Gangs Group will seek the extradition of a man who was arrested by Victoria Police on a Queensland warrant for the attempted murder of a 27-year-old man in Underwood last week.

The matter came to the attention of police on September 13 after a 27-year-old man attended a local hospital with a suspected gunshot wound.

Police will allege a shooting incident occurred in a carpark on Logan Road, Underwood during the evening of Monday September 12.

Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal for information, detectives applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for a 23-year-old man, who was believed to be interstate.

The man was arrested by Victoria Police detectives, with the assistance of Queensland Police detectives, at an apartment in Southbank this morning.

He is expected to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates court today, where Queensland detectives will apply to extradite him back to Queensland.
