Attempted murder charge, Yeerongpilly

Detectives have charged a man following investigations into the alleged attempted murder of a woman at Yeerongpilly this morning.

Around 1am police attended Gow Street following an alleged physical altercation between two people in a vehicle.

A 29-year-old woman sustained a single cut to her neck and drove herself and a witness to a nearby hospital for treatment to a non-life-threatening injury.

Police conducted patrols of the area and arrested a 23-year-old man nearby.

The man and woman are known to each other.

The 23-year-old Forest Lake man has been charged with attempted murder, possessing restricted items, wilful damage, contravention of a Domestic Violence order and breaching bail.

He is expected to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
