Attempted murder chargein Brisbane City

A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man sustained a serious stab wound in Brisbane early this morning.

It will be alleged just after 3.30am, emergency services attended a location at the corner of Albert and Queen streets and located a man with a significant stab wound to his neck.

The 52-year-old man was transported to hospital in a critical condition, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Ongoing investigations led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Brisbane man this afternoon who has since been charged with attempted murder and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow (January 17).

Police will allege the two men are not known to each other.
