A 47-year-old man was transported to hospital with multiple stab wounds after he was attacked at a unit complex in Southport this evening, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary information indicates the man was assaulted when he answered the front door of a Worendo Street unit at around 5.30pm.
A man armed with a knife stabbed him several times in the torso and arm before fleeing on foot.
The man- who is described as Caucasian, approximately 180cms tall with a proportionate build, short black hair (crew cut) and facial tattoos, and dressed all in black- was last seen running in a southerly direction along Worendo Street.
The victim was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
It is believed the men were known to each other.
Police investigations are continuing.
