Australia Day Award Nominations Open

The opportunity to nominate someone great for a Shoalhaven Australia Day Award is here with prizes up for grabs for awardees and those who go to the effort of nominating.

Everyone in the community is encouraged to reflect on someone special who has gone above and beyond this year, with nominators going into a draw to win a $500 Holiday Haven tourist park voucher.

Mayor Patricia White said the Australia Day Awards put the spotlight on the unsung heroes who make the Shoalhaven a wonderful place to live.

"Every day I meet incredible people who contribute to the collective good of the community through hard work, empathy and a desire to make other people's lives better," Cr White said.

"The Australia Day Awards gives us the opportunity to celebrate the very best-of-the-best and helps to foster a deep sense of belonging in our community," she said.

"This is a chance to honour our friends, family, colleagues, teammates or fellow volunteers who deserve to be recognised and applauded."

Nominators go into a draw to win a $500 Holiday Haven voucher. This year there are four categories for nominations and include:
