Australia Post To Reopen Heritage Goulburn Post Office

Australia Post

Australia Post will reopen its Goulburn Post Office in the city's heritage Auburn Street building, returning postal services to a much-loved local landmark.

The restored Post Office will return to central Goulburn in late 2027.

Australia Post General Manager Retail Operations, Sarah Coe said the heritage building has been temporarily closed as a safety precaution after contaminants were detected during routine testing in areas not accessed by customers.

"Bringing a heritage Post Office back to life takes careful restoration work, and we're committed to ensuring it is safe, modern and ready to serve Goulburn into the future. We're now focused on its refresh, and we can't wait to welcome locals and customers back next year," Ms Coe said.

Customers will continue to have access to Australia Post services at the temporary Post Office located at 168-172 Auburn St and the Goulburn North Licensed Post Office until the heritage building reopens.

Australia Post will provide further information on the scheduled reopening closer to when works are completed.
