This week I will travel to Indonesia and Vietnam as part of the Albanese Government's work to deepen our engagement with Southeast Asia.
Our relationships with Indonesia and Vietnam have never been stronger, built on mutual strategic trust and understanding.
In Jakarta I will meet with the Indonesian Foreign Minister, His Excellency Sugiono, to discuss ongoing bilateral cooperation between Australia and Indonesia, including through our recently renewed Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Plan of Action.
In Hanoi I will meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Bui Thanh Son, and other senior leaders to discuss shared priorities including trade and investment, climate change, education, and cyber and critical technology.
I will attend the seventh annual Australia-Vietnam Foreign Ministers' Meeting, where we will advance cooperation under our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including on human resource development, our digital economies and the green energy transition.
Australia's education, trade and investment links with Vietnam are a priority. I look forward to meeting with business leaders and alumni of Australian education institutions on the importance of boosting two-way trade and investment through the implementation of Invested: Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.
These visits build on the Albanese Government's sustained engagement with ASEAN partners as we work together to address key regional challenges and shape a peaceful, stable and prosperous region.
