Australian Retailers Association announces new partnership with American Express

The Executive Director of the Australian Retailers Association, Russell Zimmerman, has today announced a new strategic partnership between the ARA and American Express, welcoming the prospect of closer collaboration with a financial services leader.

Speaking about the benefits of the new partnership, Mr Zimmerman said a more direct relationship between the ARA and American Express would strengthen developments in payments innovation and create new products that meet the needs of Australian retailers.

"American Express is an innovator in payment technologies and offerings, and this collaboration will deepen our understanding of changing consumer habits to benefit the dynamic retail sector," Mr Zimmerman said.

"The retail industry is incredibly important to American Express as it is a key area of focus for many of our business and merchant partners as well as our global Card Members. We are pleased to further support and connect with the retail community through this partnership with the Australian Retailers Association, and we look forward to helping promote further growth and prosperity in Australia's retail sector," said Robert Tedesco, Vice President and General Manager of Global Merchant Services for Australia and New Zealand, American Express.

"We are planning a series of events with American Express in the next 12 months to help our members adapt to the latest shifts in buyer behaviour and stay on top of their game," Mr Zimmerman said.

"The ARA looks forward to working more closely with American Express and creating opportunities that mutual benefit to both our members and our new partner," Mr Zimmerman concluded.
