Australia's Elite Shotgun Athletes Eye World Championships Selection

The World Championships Selection series ended over the weekend at the QCTA State Titles at Brisbane Gun Club for Australia's Shotgun athletes.

Overcast and rainy conditions made it a challenging event with the athletes stepping up their game with impressive scores despite the tough glare.

At the QCTA State Titles, Thomas Grice qualified in first place for the Men's Trap with a score of 120/125. In the final however, it was Mitch Iles who scored 30/35 to win the gold medal. In the Women's Trap, Catherine Skinner qualified for the final in first place with a score of 113/125. Skinner would keep her momentum in the finals, going on to win the gold medal with a score of 27/35.

Luke Argiro qualified in first place at the QCTA State Titles for the Men's Skeet with a score of 120/125. In the finals, it was Paul Adams who scored 33/40 to claim the gold medal. In the Women's Skeet it was Aislin Jones who qualified first with a score of 120/125. Aislin went on to score 29/40 in the final to win the gold medal.

With all World Championship Selection events complete, the selection panel will now determine the squad for the 2022 World Championships in Osijek, Croatia.
