Australia's latest Olympic Champions to feature on final Tokyo 2020 Gold Medallist stamps

The Australian Olympic Team has finished the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with a total of 17 gold medals, equalling its record from Athens in 2004, and the most recent gold medallists are now set to feature on the final issues of Australia Post's Australian Gold Medallist Stamps for Tokyo 2020.

In the last week, a further five Olympic champions were crowned from three events with Mathew Belcher, Will Ryan, Tom Green, Jean van der Westhuyzen and Keegan Palmer displaying incredible skill and sportsmanship to bring home gold.

In the Men's 470, sailing duo Belcher and Ryan entered their final race, the medal race, with an almost unbeatable 20-point lead and their win made Belcher Australia's most successful Olympic sailor.

Green and van der Westhuyzen made history by becoming the first ever Australians to win gold in the Men's K2 1000m canoe sprint, while Palmer pulled out all stops to become the first ever Men's Skateboarding Park Olympic Champion with a top score of 95.83.

Stamps featuring an image of the athletes from each event with their gold medals in Tokyo, will be available in participating Post Offices, via mail order on 1800 331 794, and online from this week, while stocks last.

Australia Post Executive General Manager Community & Consumer Nicole Sheffield said the gold medallist stamp program is an important recognition of the hard work and success of our athletes and has allowed Australians to connect with this year's Olympic Games.

"It's a privilege for us to be able to recognise our gold medallists and help Australians celebrate these truly remarkable athletes," Ms Sheffield said.

"We're so proud of all our Olympians, who have brilliantly represented the country in Tokyo and brought us so much pride and joy during these extraordinary Olympic Games."

Australia Post was the first postal organisation in the world to produce instant stamps at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and has celebrated all of Australia's gold medal winning performances from Tokyo 2020 with a gold medallist stamp, produced within 72 hours of the medal ceremony taking place.

A complete collection of the Tokyo 2020 Gold Medallist stamps will be available from September and will include all 17 gold medallist stamp designs and the specially designed 'Ticket to Tokyo' stamp, which was released on 6 July.
