Australia's top archers have descended on Hobart for the 2026 Archery Australia National Target and Para Championships.
Minister for Sport, Nick Duigan, welcomed athletes, officials, coaches and supporters to the championships, which are being held as a combined event for the first time.
"These championships bring together some of Australia's best archers and provide a great opportunity to see elite competition right here in Hobart," Minister Duigan said.
"Archery demands concentration, discipline and precision, and it is fantastic to see athletes from across the country putting those skills to the test.
"Hosting national championships like this also gives more Tasmanians the chance to experience high-level sport and be inspired to get involved themselves."
Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Roger Jaensch, said Tasmania was continuing to build its reputation as a destination for major sporting events.
"Sporting events bring visitors to Tasmania, fill our accommodation and hospitality businesses and showcase our State as a great place to visit," Minister Jaensch said.
"We are pleased to welcome archers and their supporters to Hobart and give them the chance to experience everything Tasmania has to offer while they are here.
"Hosting national championships also strengthens Tasmania's reputation as a destination capable of delivering high-quality sporting events."
The 2026 Archery Australia National Target and Para Championships are being held in Hobart from 19 to 24 October 2026, with competitors contesting national titles across individual and team events.
