Raptor Squad have charged seven Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) members after a man was left critically injured following an assault on the state's Mid North Coast last year.
About 4.20pm on Monday 29 September 2025, emergency services were called to Settlers Way, South Kempsey, following reports of a brawl.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District arrived to find a 52-year-old man with significant head injuries.
Police were told that a group of men arrived in three vehicles and allegedly assaulted the man until he fell unconscious.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he remains.
A short time later, police stopped a Toyota SUV on Stuart Street, Kempsey, believed to be one of the three vehicles involved.
A 51-year-old man was arrested and taken to Kempsey Police Station, where he was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company and driver not disclose identity of driver/passenger as required.
He was bail refused and faced Bail Division Local Court 1 on Tuesday 30 December 2025.
A crime scene was established at the South Kempsey address by local police before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Raptor Squad under Strike Force Lexington.
Following extensive inquiries, from 5am today (Wednesday 28 January 2026), Raptor Squad officers executed six warrants in Lake Cathie, Thrumster, Verges Creek and South Kempsey.
- A 59-year-old man was arrested at an address in South Kempsey. He was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company, supply prohibited drug >indictable &
- At another address in South Kempsey, detectives arrested a 39-year-old man. He was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company and participate criminal group contribute criminal. He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Local Court 1 today.
- In Thrumster, detectives arrested a 72-year-old man. He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company and participate criminal group contribute criminal. He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Local Court 1 today.
- In South Kempsey, detectives arrested a 37-year-old man. He was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company and participate criminal group contribute criminal. He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Local Court 1 today.
- At the Lake Cathie address, detectives arrested a 31-year-old man. He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company, owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess/attempt to, anabolic or androgenic steroidal agent, participate criminal group contribute criminal and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction. He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Local Court 1 today.
- At a Verges Creek address, detectives arrested a 32-year-old man. He was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company and participate criminal group contribute criminal. He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Local Court 1 today.
