Bayside Welcomes Blister Pack Recycling

Bayside Council is now accepting blister packs at Recycling Drop Off Events. Residents are encouraged to bring their empty blister packs.

No medications are to be left inside; the packs must be completely empty.

Bayside Council has partnered with Pharmacycle to provide more recycling opportunities for the community. Through the program, blister packs are processes using specialised equipment that separates the plastic and aluminium components. The aluminium is recycled for use in steelmaking processes, and the plastic is remanufactured into products such as fencing and decking.

Bayside Council's free Recycling Drop Off Days is making recycling simpler, smarter and more convenient than ever.

Held at two convenient locations - Bexley Depot on the first Saturday of every month and Botany Depot on the third Saturday - these regular events give residents a practical way to clear out hard-to-dispose-of items while protecting the environment.

Recycling Drop Off Days are strictly for domestic household waste. Business and commercial waste cannot be accepted.

Attendees will need to show proof of residency within the LGA, and a limit of three cubic metres - approximately a box trailer load - applies per resident, per event.

A full list of accepted items is available on Council's website and Waste app, where residents can also find event dates and helpful recycling information.
