A Beenleigh mum has revealed she almost missed out on scoring a life-changing $1.3 million Saturday Gold Lotto prize after being caught up washing her dogs, only managing to buy her winning ticket five minutes before the draw closed.
The Logan resident held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4617, drawn Saturday 18 October 2025. She looks forward to $1,303,392.97.
The winning woman found out she'd become a millionaire just after Saturday night's draw, sending her heart racing.
"Thank you very much! It's life-changing!" she laughed.
"I checked the ticket straight after the draw on Saturday and I couldn't get to sleep. My heart was racing 200 miles an hour!
"I only managed to get a couple of hours of sleep, and then I had to go to work the next day. I was a zombie at work the next day!
"Funny enough, I almost missed out on entering the draw!
"I was busy washing the dogs on Saturday evening when I suddenly realised there was only five minutes left before the draw closed.
"This will be my favourite memory in life."
With a cool $1.3 million about to hit her bank account, the hard-working mum revealed big plans for the prize.
"My kids are my priority, and I'll be purchasing our very first home so they can live more comfortably! I can't believe it - a home in my name!" she shared.
"You should've seen the look on my kids' faces when I told them I'd won $1.3 million. Their jaws hit the floor.
"I also can visit my family overseas more often. My mum and sisters live overseas, and I only ever see them every three years because the costs of flights are too high but now, I can see them more!
"Thank you! Thank you!"
Her winning Pick 5 entry was purchased via The Lott app - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
