Crews have commenced repair works at Belmont Baths after damage was caused by a hire houseboat drifting into the swimming enclosure earlier this week.
Council carpenters have repaired the handrail with a temporary structure.
Work to repair the netting on the western side of the enclosure will take place today, Wednesday 7 January 2025, and is expected to take approximately two days to complete.
While daily risk assessments will be carried out to ensure safety, Council anticipates that the facility will remain partially open throughout the repair period.
Only the section undergoing repairs will temporarily close.
The damage occurred when a hire houseboat entered the swimming enclosure, breaking the netting and dislodging the handrail.
