Bendigo service station burglary

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a burglary in Bendigo this morning, Victoria Police say.

Investigators were called after receiving reports that three unknown offenders attended a service station on High Street about 5.20am.

Two males from the vehicle exited the car with their faces covered and have gained access to the service station by smashing a window.

They have stolen a quantity of cigarettes and began to load the items into the car.

Police arrived on scene and attempted to block the vehicle.

Two offenders were chased by police on foot toward Wattle Street but managed to get away.

Police smashed the driver’s side window of the silver VW Passat station wagon with a baton in an attempt to arrest the driver but he drove off through the CBD.

Investigators have released images of the vehicle involved which has distinctive roof racks and a sun roof.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
