Better Roads For Queensland's Beef Country

Construction is complete on a three-kilometre section of Clermont-Alpha Road north of Alpha in the first project delivered under the Central Queensland Beef Roads Program.

The upgrade will provide safer journeys for local communities and a more reliable and accessible route for the beef industry.

The program will progressively upgrade and seal priority sections of 9 important freight corridors across Central and Western Queensland.

Further work is underway at Clermont-Alpha Road south of Clermont, as well as Fitzroy Developmental Road north of Bauhinia and Alpha-Tambo Road south of Alpha. Design work is also progressing on May Downs Road west of Clarke Creek.

These essential safety upgrades will strengthen supply chains, support regional jobs and help Queensland's beef industry grow.

The Australian Government is contributing $400 million and the Queensland Government is contributing $100 million to the program.
