Beyond Golden Decade

Resources Victoria and Fosterville Gold Mine have recently celebrated a key milestone for the state's resources sector.

The 2016 find of ultra-high-grade gold at the Swan Zone east of Bendigo turned Fosterville Gold Mine into a global success, showcasing Victoria as a place to explore and invest.

Over the last decade Victorian minerals exploration investment hit record levels, Stawell Gold Mine reopened and the state's annual gold production hit levels not seen in a century.

But it's not just about gold, Victoria has some of the world's richest deposits of Critical Minerals and rare earth elements.

Now, as Fosterville Gold Mine closes in on its five millionth ounce of gold, the next phase of minerals development is taking shape.

Resources Victoria has approved three Mining Licenses over the past 18 months, all related to mineral sands projects.

To support this next phase of development, Resources Victoria has updated the state's Critical Minerals Roadmap to help get more projects moving, creating more jobs and boosting regional economies.
