New documents have confirmed yet another Big Build executive has been approved for a salary top-up worth more than $170,000 a year under the Allan Labor Government.
Despite Victoria drowning in Labor's debt, the Victorian Independent Remuneration Tribunal has advised that the Interim Director-General of the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) should be paid a total of $739,351 - $166,023 above the maximum of the relevant salary band.
Under Labor, the number of Victorian Public Service executives has almost tripled from 675 in 2014-15 to 1,902 as of June 2025, whilst at least $15 billion of taxpayer money has been lost to corruption and misconduct on major projects.
An elected Wilson Liberal and Nationals Government will prioritise the essentials and introduce a new public sector executive pay cap.
This pay cap will limit public sector executive salaries to the same level as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court - currently $598,248 - and ensure remuneration is in line with community expectations.
Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Treasurer, Jess Wilson, said: "These excessive salaries are out of step with community expectations and under a government I lead, they will not occur.
"My Liberals and Nationals team has a plan to cap excessive public sector executive pay and hire the 3,000 more police and 200 more PSOs Victoria needs to keep the community safe.
"Only a Liberal and Nationals Government I lead will restore financial discipline and put the focus back where it belongs."
